Hannah celebrated her fifth birthday yesterday, her golden birthday! She went to school with cupcakes and treat bags in tow. We picked her up from school with a large bouquet of balloons. Had lunch at her favorite place-Red Robins. Traveled to Best Buy to pick up Wreck it Ralph at which time the balloon bouquet decided to exit the car. Bought a second bouquet of balloons. Came home and played before heading to the mall later in the evening. Hopefully she had a great birthday despite the balloons blowing away and a few other minor disasters.
Carter had his psychological evaluation while Hannah was at school and my Mom watched Amelia. Nothing to really report about that, it was surprisingly the easiest part of my day. They let him play while they talked to us. We then implemented a clean up time that went pretty well. Next, they tested him while he was buckled into a high chair and all the toys were taken out of the room. They showed him a book with pictures and asked him questions, they worked with red and white blocks, etc. He did not care to be buckled in the high chair and was getting angry at the lady for not letting him out. Tom and I filled out about seven pages of questions in regards to his behavior and then we went to the playground to see how he does in a playground setting. From there we left. The evaluation lasted around two and a half hours. They will give us a call to have us come back and talk about what they found during his evaluation.
Yesterday was a hard day for me, I think the easiest part of the day was taking Carter to the Children's Hospital which is saying a lot. After the balloons blew away the day went downhill from there. I cut my finger (which still hurts), Carter jumped on my back (which also still hurts), Carter choked and threw up at the dinner table because of his paper eating obsession and to top it all off he jumped into the mall water fountain and was completely drenched and choking on water. Yeah, it was a long day for sure.
I'm sure one day I'll look back and laugh at some of these shenanigans but today is not that day.

the september run-down
Amelia is walking and has nearly seven teeth!
Hannah enjoyed her first day of Pre4 and really enjoys going to school every day. We've even had some homework this year as preparation for Kindergarten and she thinks that is awesome. I can see now Hannah is going to be just like me in school...good.
I'm in the process of switching our house over to organic/whole/natural foods as much as possible. It will be a little bit of a slow process since somethings are easy to switch like milk and eggs and other things with a longer pantry life will be switched later when it finally runs out. The kids haven't seemed to notice which is a good thing in my book!
September proved to be quite the month of medical treatments which spilled into October. I had my nose cauterized for the second time due to excessive nose bleeds. Carter had his face looked at and allergy testing done. I had my blood work done and found out my thryroid is off and my meds needed adjusting. Then to cap it all off I finally got my elbow looked at by my primary doctor who was plumb useless. Finally saw an orthopaedic doctor and was diagnosed with severe tennis elbow (tendinitis) and received a cortisone shot.
A few more fun things included a trip to the circus, it was the first time for Hannah and I. Hannah loved it so much she still talks about it:
And a night out with my favorite ladies to celebrate Emily's birthday:
I am looking foward to all that October holds :)

I Think Me Head Is Going To Explode!
I still have a "cold" which I have decided is my "morning sickness" for my second trimester. My head is like a faucet of mucus that just can't be turned off. The baby has re-programmed my body so that A) Nothing I take for it will work and B) I might throw up after taking anything that is "foreign," this includes sinus medicine.
I switched OB's yesterday, my first appointment isn't until next week! I am excited/terrified, it is always scary meeting new doctors. My old doctor called the Maternal and Fetal Medicine office and cancelled my ultrasound the same day I had my records switched. It seemed a little vindictive but I am sure it is all protocol. I was supposed to have an ultrasound Oct. 16th but now I am not sure what the new doctor will do. Hopefully she won't dilly-dally and I will have my ultrasound on or around the same day. I started taking the HB meds that the other OB prescribed for me and I felt like I was having a panic attack, my heart started racing and I couldn't breathe. Needless to say I stopped taking them.
We are most likely going to put our house on the market, I am nervous/excited. We will be meeting with a realtor on Saturday, I hope everything goes well.
