Feeling Better!?!

I am feeling a little better from the other day when I was in full fledged diabetes panic mode. The Diabetes Center made some changes today when I faxed my (blood sugar) numbers in and so far so good!

I am just feeling really, really stressed! I hate, hate, hate having that 'nothing you can do will change anything' feeling. Perhaps I am a huge slight control freak?

Like the house is coming along fairly well but there is really nothing I can do to help. My diabetes is a complete act of nature, I was way more physically active and ate next to no sweets and it didn't phase my diabetes this weekend so that is super frustrating.

But, the diabetes is back under control as we speak so I hope it stays that way! The house is coming along as fast as it can. My husband and dad fixed the ceiling this weekend and I think it just needs a little more spackle and sanding before they can paint it. The bathroom is getting there. Dad did the plumbing for the bathtub and then we are going to put down tile, paint and install the new toilet and vanity and that will be done. I think the bedrooms just need painted and flooring installed...I think. This house is just like what you would see on TLC's Flip That House. I kid you not, you start one thing and it opens another can of worms!

So if anyone wants to come over and lend a hand you are more than welcome! We'll even buy the pizza!

Hmm...

I have noticed that some people don't eat pork. They eat all the other meats but not pork. I think it is odd  but to each his own.

I got to thinking about the cafeteria at work. They deep fry all the breakfast meats in the same oil that they deep fry the french fries, onion rings and sweet potato fries. So all the people that don't eat pork are still being contaminated. The bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, scrabble and chicken fingers are fried in the same oil as hashbrown patties,  french fries, onion rings and sweet potato fries. So if you didn't eat pork, would you be offended by the cross-contaminates? If eating pork makes you sick would this make you sick? The answer is no.

I am a people watcher and am quite conviced the anti-porks haven't even realized the contamination. They also don't seem to care that the same griddle that everyone else's food was grilled on also grilled there pork-free food.

I find this very interesting and leads me to believe people are full of shit.

*********************************************************

In the beginning of August I was fixing a paper jam in the copy machine at work. Once I was finished and back at my desk I realized the stone had fallen out of my ring. I told the secretary and she had the copy repairman come down to take apart the machine so I could get my stone back. I successfully located the stone and took the ring to be repaired at Littmans Jewelers.

I finally drug myself to the mall this Friday to pick my ring up. The ring looked beautiful, the stone was back where it belonged and the ring looked all shiny and polished. As the guy is ringing up my bill I notice and blurt out, "The diamonds are missing in the middle underneath the amethyst!" The ring is very unique, IMO, it is a huge amethyst that is set high and underneath the amethyst is a row of diamonds probably about seven or more. I guess when they put the amethyst back in place they knocked one or two of the little diamonds out. They are supposed to fix and it should be ready today. I am SO glad I caught that before I walked out of the store! This also lead me to wonder, how in the hell did you not see the diamonds missing from the row? I mean you are working that closely with the ring and don't even notice that you knocked the diamonds out? Craziness!

Losing Weight

Well as most of you know I have lost about 7-8 pounds. I have cut back on my eating entirely. Prior to my weight loss I was not watching what I ate and not exercising. Now, I eat three meals a day and I only eat a snack if necessary.

I have not eaten any bread, rolls, crackers, chips, candy, cake, etc, etc. This was super hard for me as I am addicted to food just like a smoker is addicted to cigarettes. I hadn't realized how addicted I was to food. The first few days of my "detox" I was ready to literally pull my hair out! I am much better now though and am really sticking to what I deemed as healthy.

My typical day is:

Breakfast: Light and Fit Carb and Sugar Control yogurt, an apple

Lunch: Salad or Some form of meat and vegetables

Dinner: 2 Fried eggs on wheat bread or  some form of meat and vegetables or salad

Snacks: Carrots, applesauce, string cheese, Carb-Smart Ice Cream bar

I don't typically snack, but if I do, the above would be a possible item I might eat.

I am also walking about one mile a day. I will eventually join a gym when I start to plateau but for now I am going to do the above.

I was/am an emotional eater so anytime something upset me I would eat. This thing with my "friend" has kind of set me off a little. I am trying to ignore it so that I can keep my eye on the big picture. Losing weight.

How does everyone else lose weight? Suggestions? Recipes?

Yes, I Have OCD

I have noticed people have crazy times that they have been posting. My OCD side is wanting you to fix this, please! I don't know why but that annoys the hell out of me. Just like when the answering machine light sometimes stays on after I have checked and deleted the messages.

If you notice yours is wrong here is how you fix it, it is very simple:

Really, I am not psychotic, honest!
