This Is Why I Love Him...

Today there was a parade on Main Street in the town of Newark. My eldest niece was in it, but I wanted to stay home and not freeze my ass off so I stayed home. I called my mother later in the day to see how everything went. The proud grandmother that she is went on about my niece and how cute she was in the parade, I can't wait to see the pictures!

Then she tells me about my dad...

There was, for some reason that I have yet to grasp, a political demonstration of sorts in the parade. Mom said there was three people dressed up, one was Bush, one was Cheney and one was Condoleezza. They were chained together in prison shackles and had war crime and other things written on there back. Apparently they were booing and my dad yells: "And boo to you too!" and the boo-er yells back "What did you say" and my dad yells back "I hope you trip!" Now I would have paid to seen this, I probably would have pissed my pants laughing. Why they had this demonstration of sorts in a family parade, I will never know. But don't be surprised to find that a republican will take offense and say something to you. Hell, I was offended. But when my mom proceeded to say that the democrats were handing out candy and dad refused to take it, I lost it! His exact words were I won't eat this "damn democratic candy." I was literally laughing for a good five minutes. I am so much like my dad it is scary.

Fun Times!

We had our annual barbecue this past Saturday, super fun! Although all day we all complained about how it was "hot as balls" out here and that surely we were going to die from the heat. All of a sudden the weather decided it wanted to be 98 freaking degrees and as humid as possible. But we made it through and had a lovely time. The barbecue is always my time to get caught up with the people I grew up with and Tom's family.

Poor mom dehydrated herself (on accident, of course) and I think had heat exhaustion to go with it. She got horribly sick and ended up going home early, it was a real bummer. Every year we all look forward to the BBQ and mom practically does everything to get it ready and she was pretty upset that she got so sick.

"The boys," as I call them really scare the shit out of me sometimes. You just want to help them change their lives around but they don't want help, they seem to like the way they live just fine. That scares me even more.  It would appear that whoever was "less drunk" received the honor of driving home. Of course fancythisand I were really upset by this, but there is no talking to these boys, do you hear me, no talking to them! When I called Tom and told them what they did he said "They do it all the time." I was even more concerned, it's not like they are just endangering themselves but other people. A few times these boys would say something and I would give them the old you shouldn't do that because xyz... They really scare me, I hope they grow out of there wild and crazy behavior.

We had Tom's mom tell his side of the family that I am pregnant, it was so cute! His mom is super excited and she is hoping we have a girl! She was so cute, she looked over at me and said, "can I tell them now, I am about to explode!" I gave that a good chuckle and told her to go right ahead.

Sunday, we had a man come and give us an estimate for an addition. Holy smokes, it would cost a hell of a lot of money! We paid 157,000.00 for our house, by my calculations to complete the addition it would cost about 60-70,000.00 dollars total. That would mean I might as well just buy a new house, am I wrong? I about had a stroke and decided we should just wait and see how next year goes once we have the baby and everything. I don't want to feel like fools rush in and get financially stuck.

Ambivalence Anyone?

I had an appointment today to see a diabetes doctor I had never seen before. Of course I HATE going to the diabetes doctor. I long to be a "normal" person and having diabetes sucks the normalcy right out of life. It wasn't my first visit at the diabetes place but it was my first time being pregnant and going there. I am already dreading this whole visit and then I don't know what this doctor is going to be like, I am praying to just get this appointment over and go back to work. The doctor comes in and hardly even looks at me, he just keeps asking me questions and furiously writing in my chart. I thought that was odd, I have never had a doctor act so stand-offish before. Then he asks me this:

Doctor: Are you feeling ambivalent about being pregnant?

Me: (Long pause) What does that mean? Dreading it or something? If so definitely not!

Doctor: So you are going to keep the baby?

Me: Yes (thinking to myself, didn't we just talk about my infertility treatments and how I stopped going and got pregnant)

He kept answering everything I said with a calculating "Hmmm" like I was lying or not telling the whole truth. To be quite honest he made me feel like I didn't deserve to be pregnant because I have diabetes. I will never go back and see that man again. Needless to say when I went to make my next appointment they asked if I wanted to see the same doctor again, I immediately told the girl NO.

When he asked me if I was keeping my baby I wanted to say, "No, I think I'll just throw it in the river." Who the hell asks somebody that anyhow?

The Brad Paisley Concerts

July 21st Fancythis and I traveled on down to Charlotte, North Carolina for a Brad Paisley concert. The drive was about eight and a half hours and was pretty uneventful. It is nice to just take the weekend off and get out of town for a few days! While we were there we got our nails done and had a nice dinner, you know girl time. When we got to the concert we used the same excuse that we used last year so that we could park in VIP parking...muhuwahaha. We waited in the world's longest line to pick our tickets up from will call and ended up missing the Taylor Swift portion of the concert. That was the first thing to tick us off. Then we get to our seats and we didn't like them, they were four rows from the front but we felt like we were off in left field, second thing to tick us off. Jack Ingram came on after we got seated and he sucked, third thing to tick us off. Kellie Pickler came on after him in her red high heels and was just adorable, she is a good entertainer and sings very well. It was sad, she started to sing this one song about her mother and how she was never around as a child and she started bawling, it was so sad it made me want to cry. I suppose it was hard for her to sing that song and be in her hometown all at the same time. Then Brad came on and the security person told us to go on up and stand right next to the stage. So that's what we did and we sung and danced and had a good ol' time! Unfortunately we again did not catch his hat or a single guitar pick! Better luck next time I guess.

****************************************************

July 25th Fancythis, Emmy and Fancythis's sister went to the State Fair and watched Brad again! Super fun! I think I had more fun here than I did in Charlotte. Emmy had me cracking up the whole time. The man in front of her did not get out of his seat the whole time which is really quite annoying when you are trying to dance and such during the concert. But other than that we all had a great time! At the end of the concert I walked over to the Meet and Greet area so that I could meet Brad. Once I was over there I realized my camera was missing, I then had a panic attack, ran back to our seats, no camera, called Em to see if L had my camera, L said no, Em looked at L's wrist and sure enough that is where my camera was L just forgot she had it on her wrist, crisis averted! I waited in line to meet Brad and when I got in there I was only slightly star-struck. He shook my hand said hi and thanks for coming to the show, autographed my album cover, took my picture and sent me on my way. It took all of two minutes. He is adorable and very shy, he seemed a little too skinny the road must be hard on him. So I guess we will be doing it all again next year and hopefully Fancythis will get to meet him next year.

Vacation and Identity Theft.

Here is a little tiny recap.

Vacation was a lot of fun! Saturday we went to our family reunion, super fun, someone asked me if I was still considering adoption? Where do people get this shit? Sunday was G-Pa's memorial service and Monday was the funeral. It was a military funeral at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetary and the gun shots scared the shit out of me. It was a beatiful service and I was slightly amazed at the whole process. After the funeral we went to the St. Louis Zoo, my favorite zoo in the world. After the zoo, Tom and I caught a baseball game, it was awesome, our seats were awesome, we had an excellent time! The game was the St.Louis Cardinals -vs- Arizona Diamondbacks, Cards won! Yay! Tuesday we went to the Anheuser Busch Brewery in St. Louis and got two free beers at the end. After that we had barbecue pork steaks with my Aunt and Uncle, delicious! After dinner Tom and I went to the movies and watched Transformers, it was pretty good. Wednesday we woke up and met my Great Aunt and Great Uncle for breakfast, super fun, she is my favorite Aunt and just loves us to death. After that we drove down to Dexter to another Aunt and Uncle's house and the whole family including 47,000 children came over and we had a party and shot fireworks off in the front yard, good times! Thursday, we went to the Current River in Van Buren and went tubin' super fun! Tom got sun-poisening and everyone else got sunburn too! Dad and I have the least severe sunburn due to our natural olive complexion, thank God! After tubin' everyone drove from Dexter to Poplar Bluff to meet us for dinner at an awesome steak house, delicious! After dinner Mom and I went to Walmart to buy some Aloe, my debit card was denied for $15.00!?!? I thought must be something wrong with the system because I have plenty of money. Got back to the hotel and logged on the the internet there to see why I had no money, negative $30.00, what the hell is going on! I looked over the charges and someone had charged over $800.00 in fraudalent charges!!! I nearly had a stroke! I called the bank and cancelled my cards, keep in mind I am a thousand miles from home! They said it was most likely someone stealing my card information from the internet and that I would have to come in a fill out paperwork and they will start to recover my money. Beings it was a Thursday and I am in Missouri it was not so easy to just come fill out paperwork!!! Ahhh! Friday we left for Pigeon Forge, Tenn. for the fun of it? Dad wanted to drive hours out of the way so that we could look around and see if we wanted to go on vacation there!?! We drove down the main drag and turned around in a parking lot, Tom turned around in the same parking lot but managed to hit the curb and rip off the skirting around the bottom of our Dodge Magnum! That was a hilarious situation that I will have to write about later. We rode home after that and we were on the road a total of 24 hours and drove right to the bank to fill out our fraud paperwork! Needless to say I am exhausted and will be sure to post pics and write more later, this vacation slowly turned into a vacation from hell and has left me wondering if my identity is stolen.

Brazilian Bitchiness

Today I went and had my "routine maintenance" read: Brazilian and eyebrow wax. You know since vacation is on the horizon.  I decided not to go to Cielo my normal place because I hate to drive in to the city and various other reasons. I decided to try Trilogy Salon and Day Spa. What a waste. I didn't have to wait to long before the girl came out and yells "HEATHER" as loud as humanly possible. I thought to myself that was obnoxious, oh well. So she speeds walks to the room.

Here is the obnoxious conversation:

Bitch: So you want a bixini and eyebrow wax?

Me: No I wanted a Brazilian and an eyebrow.

Bitch: Okay, the whole thing?

Me: Yes

Instructs me to get undressed get on table, I comply.

B: Do you shave?

Me: No, I get Brazilians.

B: From who?

Me: Cielo.

B: Who at Cielo?

Me: Helene

B: Where is she from?

Me: I don't think anywhere, I don't know.

B: Do you know anyone else from Cielo?

Me: Yes but they don't work there anymore.

B: Who where they?

Me: Jen and Michelle.

B: I know of Jen.

B: You have a lot of ingrown hairs, are sure you don't shave?

Me: No I don't shave, my hair always grows in-grown.

B: You need to start using Tend Skin.

Me: Okay

She does not do a full Brazilian which is really just obnoxious. I was so pissed at her I didn't even want to ask her. Moves on to my eyebrows.

B: WOW, they are really crooked!

B: But you already know that don't you.

Me: I thought one was longer than the other.

B: Did Helene do this as well?

Me: Yes.

B: Do you pluck your eyebrows?

Me: No, never.

B: Well, I am not going to mess with them too much they need to grow out so I can fix them.

Me: Okay.

Needless to say I was ready to choke this bitch. I can't believe she was so rude. I am sorry I am such a horribly disfigured freak and my hair grows in-grown and my eyebrows are disgustingly crooked. It is just me or was she accusing me of plucking and shaving? I would never, hence why I pay someone to do that for me. Next time I am just going to brave the city and go to Cielo. I hate people!

The Dreamy Eric Church

Oh my gosh! L and I went to a concert on Thursday at the Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach, DE. It was freakin' awesome! We both loooovvveee Eric Church and we were right. directly. in front. of. the. stage!!! Are bellies were literally pressing the stage, he was standing directly in front of me all night, it was the best! For the most part we were singing, dancing, clapping, screaming: all night. I am still so excited just thinking about it! At one point some girl behind me tried to crush me to death hoping she would be able to touch someone's leg on stage, that lasted two seconds before I did a backwards body slam which should have landed her on her ass. It only took one time of that and no one did it again! I am all for watching the concert but being drunk does not give you the right to be an obnoxious asshole!

At the end of the concert we hung around and got a pic with Eric and his autograph! I was for some unknown reason star-struck and stood there like an idiot instead of giving him a hug. This was me:

Me: Hi

Eric: Hello

(Takes my picture from my hands to sign it)

Eric: What is your name?

Me: Hhheaatther

My voice might as well have been trembling! I couldn't believe the way I behaved! L on the other hand had, no problem! She ran up and gave him a hug like they were long lost cousins.

Blah, Blah, Blah

All week I have been fretting over this damn test I had to do at Dr. F's office. I knew it was going to be painful especially when I read "take 800mg Ibuprofen before the procedure."

I had to have a sonohysterography to make sure my uterus is a-okay. It is just fine as I figured it would be, but the pain from this test was really something. Before the test Rhonda the physicians assistant told me it wasn't as painful as an HSG, thank God! But it ventured pretty close to it.

Before she started the procedure she did the typical ultrasound of the ovaries and uterus to check everything before she began. When she positioned the ultrasound "wand" to my right ovary, I thought the machine must be broken, I can't see anything, why is there a massive black spot? So she tells me it is a cyst! What the piss! I thought I might of had a cyst because my side has been hurting for the past three weeks, it doesn't hurt anymore so I figuered it burst already. That is not the case, the cyst is about the size of a grapefruit and has completely covered my right ovary. Now, I can not exercise or anything physical because she said I could twist my ovary. I am pretty sure at this point that I can't win for losing! To top it off this cyst is producing a whole mess of estrogen which turns to fat and I am trying to lose weight!!! Why is the devil trying to bring me down?

So other than that everything is going pretty well for me, I have still managed to lose weight. Losing weight slowed down a bit and I was concerned why but now I am going to blame it on the cyst!  ;-)  I managed to squeeze my big butt into Bermuda shorts that are two sizes smaller from my original pant size! Yay! Is it just me or are shorts cut way smaller than pants and capris? I can fit one size in pants/capris, but in shorts I have to buy a size bigger! I am thinking this is a conspiracy!

The Food Tour

Saturday I woke up super early to meet Rhonda and Dee at the Shop Rite 45 minutes away from my house. It was food tour day! Originally I thought they were going to tell you what you should eat, but I left feeling like I shouldn't eat anything. I know that was not her intention. Basically she walked us around the store aisle by aisle and showed us everything we should not eat and had us read the label and the ingredients aloud.

The Summary:

  • Only eat wild caught fish, do not eat farm raised fish

  • Eat only organic meats, other meat has too much hormones

  • Eat organic fruits and vegetables

  • No lunch meat, too much sodium

  • Nothing that comes from a bag or a box

  • If "it" can be prepared at home you should do that instead of buying all ready prepared from the store

  • No tuna for me because of the mercury

  • Eat pasta and rice sparingly

  • She recommended eating shredded wheat for a snack (gross)

  • She also recommended Kashi Pilaf as a side item for lunch or dinner

  • Essentially if it is organic that is what I should buy

  • Do not eat anything sugar free

She also wants me to keep a log of all the sugars I consume, to what end I am not sure. I am feeling really confused and a little overwhelmed. Organic is SOOO expensive so I am not sure how this is going to work since I am poor!  ;)

On the bright side I am officially 30 pounds lighter!!!

Girls Night Out!

The Melting Pot here in DE was offering a special Girls Night Out deal. So of course we had to get in on that deal, I mean after all I haven't been there since October...I think? If anyone has never been I would highly recommend it! I think it is supposed to be geared towards couples but Tom and I have only been once and I think I have been with the girls like ten times. Wow, typing that seems really bad. Oh well, I'll let the pictures do the talking...

picture-010.jpg

Yes, I know, we took one with me holding the camera, we are such dorks!

picture-008.jpg

The best part....dessert

picture-007.jpg

God love her...Em is always being goofy in her pictures. No her teeth are not ultra white she is squishing a marshmallow between them!

picture-006-cropped.jpg

Em, L and me! I heart this picture...even if the steam is blowing in my face  ;-)

picture-005.jpg

Em and L...my bestess!

picture-009.jpg

Last but not least our feet....in-case anyone needed a side by side comparison. (I am on the left.)

To cap the night off while we were sitting at the light a woman in-front of us leaving the parking lot threw her car in reverse and backed right into L's car! They were doing traffic on 202 and there was a cop blocking the way to cross the highway. For some reason this woman got the bright idea to back up instead of making a right and turning when the lane became available to cross all the way over. Luckily the cop saw her and crossed the street to "greet" us. He told L, "Better back up some more before she backs into you again!" I was thinking, oh good, he caught that! Em summed this one up the best any of us could, "What a fucking idiot!"

Humor From The Weekend...

Here is a couple of humorous quotes and stories from this weekend...

(L and I in the car she is driving about 70 or so in a 55, we pass a cop car that is looking for speeders and he doesn't come after us)

L: "Apparently he is looking for people in the 80-100 range."

(Parents and I are eating dinner Sunday night, I was mainly talking to my mother and told her my back has been hurting from not walking due to the rain.)

Dad: "Don't you have a rain-suit"

Me: "I am not walking in the rain!"

Tom: "Yeah, she wants to join the gym in the winter because she doesn't want walk in the cold."

Tom: "All she needs to do is layer up."

Mom: "Tom, have you started walking too?"

Tom: "No"

Followed by fits of laughter

(On Friday I was at the spa for my brazilian regular maintenance)

The aesthitician tells me to go ahead and get undressed from the waist down and jump on the table. She shut the door and left me to undress. I am half naked and hop on the table and it swivels out and rubs hard against my leg and butt. It hurt really bad and I cursed myself for forgetting the table swiveled. There was nothing to do but laugh. Then I realized that I ripped the cloth slightly in half while I was trying to hold on for dear life. I then prattled through the cabinets looking for a new cloth to no avail! What the heck can I just have a normal waxing without some embarrassing moment? Maybe this is a sign!

Justice, for once!

Driving to and from work is dangerous. Almost everyone seems to be in a hurry and doesn't want to wait in line. They want to be first, they want to cut you off or speed carelessly. Which leads me to my next story.

I am driving to work this morning and I am coming down RT 13 to the turn lane to get on RT 1. The turn lane is HUGE and you usually have to wait in a long line to be able to get on to RT 1. I am waiting in line ever so patiently as I am used to the large volume of cars. The light turns to green and we all start going, I am right about were I will need to turn my wheel and cross the road and out of nowhere a car cuts in front of me and into the turn-lane. I slammed on my brakes and laid on the horn.

He is still in-front of me and I decide I am going to pick my phone up and look like I am calling the cops on him. I called Tom and checked on him at work, hung up. I look in my mirror and see a trooper. Checked my speed, I wasn't speeding. The trooper gets behind me and then over into the far left lane. He is a little ways in-front of me and turns his flashy yellow lights on and his turn blinker to get in-front of me. I slow down some and give him ample room to slide over. The car that cut me off mind you, is now in-front of the cop. Just then, the cop flicks his lights on and as the red and blue flashed out, I said aloud, YES!

The trooper surely did just pull that jack-off over that cut me off! Victory is mine! Well it may not make up for the dumb ass from yesterday, I was glad the cop saw him or heard my horn whatever the case was and pulled that guy over. I think I have a slightly renewed faith in the police force around here!

Idiots Abound!

So, I am driving home from work today and there are two areas on Route 1 that you need to merge into the left lane. These areas are clearly marked with "must merge left" on three different signs. I always make a point to ride in the left lane so that I am prepared to merge prior to the lane running out like it does in the right lane. I drive thru these merge points everyday and everyday some a-hole wants to drive to the front of the line and try to cut you off or run you off the road. Today is no different.

I get to the second merge point and the car behind me is atleast 10 car lengths back or more, I figure this is plenty of room for the Jeep Grand Cherokee to get into. The road is merging closer and closer into one lane. The jeep refuses to merge, she/he (didn't get a good look at the face but I think it was a woman) keeps coming at me, riding on my side like it was going to intimidate me into submission, she didn't even flip on her blinker. I look in my rear-view and there is still a mile of room for this moron to get behind me. I keep driving in the left lane, we are toe to toe and I refuse to give an inch. Finally the guys tries to push me into the railing, I didn't move, I was straight as an arrow. The jeep eventually gets behind me right before they would be completely riding on the shoulder as she got behind me she lays on the horn as if I am in the wrong. As she gets behind me she starts riding my ass, she swings into the other lane, another car is blocking her, she swings back behind me, she passes the car. She is on the side of me now and rolls down her window, I speed up, I am not stupid enough to have a verbal argument while driving 70mph. She gets behind me again and gives the finger! I give her the okay gesture. She gets her phone out and is trying to take a picture of my car! I changed lanes two more times so that I was furthest away from her. I tried to get behind her but she slowed to about 55mph (in a 65mph zone) just so I can't get behind her. She gets off at the next exit so I never had a chance to get her license plate.

I am quite certain she will call the police and give some cock and bull story about me having road rage. I was thinking I should call the cops but I don't have her license plate number, so would it do me any good? Anytime I have ever called the police they never seem to be able to do anything so I figure what is the point! I called my mom and gave her the facts so she would be aware in-case the cops called looking for my dad (my car is still registered in his name since he originally bought my car when I was 17). My mother is not the least bit worried and neither am I but I thought I should probably write this all down while it is still fresh in my mind!

Do you think I was in the wrong?

Should I have given in to the psycho woman?

What lesson would she have learned if I had let her get in-front of me?

Psychics

Reading this article today reminded me of my friend Irene and what she told me a few months back.

She had called me and was talking to me about going to the psychic. She loves psychics and takes everything they say as the gospel truth. Irene wanted me to go to a new psychic she discovered and gave me her name and phone number. Of course I was not going to but obliged her by taking the name and number. She called a little bit later and asked if I ever went, I told her no, but if she wants to ask the psychic something about me while she is there, she is more than welcome.

Irene goes to her appointment and gives the woman my name and date of birth. Irene said that was all she gave her.

Psychic: I see she has female problems, has she had a miscarriage?

Irene: No I don't think so.

P: I see something there...she has something wrong with her.

P: Tell her not to worry, she will have a son within the next three years. He will have fair skin and she will love him with all of her heart.

I don't know what else was said but this is what she reported back to me from her visit. I still think about that some-days and it gives me a chuckle! I think it was pretty ballsy of the psychic to name specifics like, it will be a boy, he will have fair skin and it will be within the next three years. I have to admit it does make me wonder!

And Then I Heard, Abortion

Yesterday, my friend Phyllis brought her granddaughter Hannah Rose for a visit at work. I was excited to see her because at not even one year old she sounds like a very intelligent child. The first time I heard her name I was upset because I had always planned on using Hannah Rose for my daughters name, which that never happened. So any-who I made it through seeing Hannah.

A couple hours later my "friend" Rachel calls. I answer the phone knowing that it will of course be some type of sob story as it normally is. I never expected her to tell me she had an abortion. She has told me for a long time, to be more precise since she found out I was trying to conceive, that she wanted to have a baby. I thought at the time that this was ridiculous because she is never in  a serious committed relationship or dare I say MARRIED! About a month ago she said again how she wanted to have a baby with a guy named Donnie that she had been dating for about a month maybe two. She went on an on about how even though she has "so much pain" all the time she would still have a baby. She is a hypochondriac that is always complaining about having pain and "the doctors don't know what is wrong with her." She has been addicted to percosets for over a year and "she needs them for the pain." So she calls and not right away but soon enough she starts.

R: I am pregnant

H: What? Your pregnant?

R: Well I had an abortion.

H: (Silence)

R: I was having a lot of pain and I was sick all the time, I was bleeding and I went to the doctors. The doctor said that I am carrying low and will probably have a miscarriage. So my mom took me to have an abortion.

(Not a hint of sadness or regret was in this girls voice)

R: I was in a lot of pain and my mom keeps calling me a drug addict, but I am in pain. If I need the medicine I am going to take it.

H: Didn't you say you wanted to be pregnant?

R: Well I was in a lot of pain and was probably going to have a miscarriage anyway.

H: Hmmmm.......

R: I was thinking I shouldn't tell Heather because you have been trying to get pregnant for a long time, but, you are my best friend

H: Hmm

(A little bit later in the conversation)

R: Me and Donnie aren't together anymore

H: Oh

(Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! This is the real reason she had an abortion, she was lying about all the above listed aliments.)

I listened to her ramble on a little longer and then told her I needed to get back to work and needed to let her go. Needless to say I was fifty shades of pissed and hurt. How dare she call me and so selfishly tell me she had an abortion! I don't need nor want to hear that shit. She should never have done that, besides the fact that I am trying to get pregnant, I am pro-life, what she did disgusts me. I was having a wretched day after her phone call and my face was so flushed with anger I thought my head might have exploded. I called L to vent and she was just as pissed as I was. I left work an hour early and went to L's. I told her I was going to write Rachel a letter because I don't think I can say anything to her on the phone with out cussing her up one side and down the other. L and I wrote a letter to her that is about four pages long. I am done with this girl.  I hope to God she never calls me again. I haven't been her best friend since we were like eleven and I am sick to death of hearing about all her self created drama. Not once has she ever asked how I am doing or how getting pregnant is going, nothing. She is selfish and only wants to talk about her self and I am sick of it!

What a Wonderful Weekend!

I had the nicest weekend doing nothing in-particular!

Saturday Tom and I hung out with my Mom and Dad and then just my Dad because my Mom had to work. It was really nice to spend time with my Dad. (He works out of town all week and is only home on the weekends.) Then I FINALLY bought mulch and laid that down and it really made my tulips pop! Then I enjoyed a nice sit on the porch, doing nothing, it was great!

Sunday I woke up and went to the grocery store,( literally I was in my pajamas lounge wear), I of course bumped in to the lady that used to do my hair and we chatted a bit. I felt slightly uncomfortable because I haven't gone to her since August because she was cutting my hair off way to short. Then I went home, assisted Tom with the mower. He had hit a mystery rock that dented the metal that cover the blades and it wouldn't run so I had to help him hold the thing and also make sure he didn't cut his finger off!  ;-)

Then we sat around watching TV so I decided to go out and enjoy the nice air and read a book on the porch. It felt just like summer!

Oooo, I almost forgot, drumroll please.....I have lost SEVEN POUNDS this past week! Yay!

What a great weekend! How was everyone else's weekend?

Cigarettes Suck!

Saturday, Tom and I went to his Great Aunt's 70th birthday party. It was super fun, I seem to always end up talking to Aunt Marion who then invited us to go to a bar called George's in Claymont as an "after party." We never hang out with his family so we said okay,  plus it was Uncle Tony's birthday.

At the birthday party they were smoking but it didn't seem so bad. Then when we got to the bar everyone including the barmaid was smoking. I didn't care at first because I am used to people smoking around me. But as the hours lingered on my eyes started burning!  I mean on fire, you would have thought that a cigarette was in my eye! Then my sinuses started to get all stuffy! Eyes running! It was freaking me out, I thought I was having an allergic reaction.

When we finally left, I the non-drinker got the honor of driving my drunk husband home in the rain. With my eyes on fire.

The next day I had a HORRIBLE headache, I am telling you I thought my head was going to split-open! To my surprise, I still don't feel good and this all happened Saturday. I think I might have developed a sinus infection!

Maybe I am allergic to cigarette smoke? Very strange!

Dr. R. 4-9-2007

I talked to Dr. R. yesterday.

My ultrasound and blood-work are still base line at day 25. He looks over my chart and asks how everything is going. I explained regular cycles from May to Dec., then nothing until March. He said that my ovaries have gone back to the way they were before surgery (ovary drilling) and he wasn't going to keep pumping me full of drugs. He wants me to see a nutritionist so that when he does put me on drugs again it won't have to be high doses. The  nutrionist is $250.00 and conveniantly located at Dr. R.'s office.

I asked him if I should be taking metformin or glucophage and he said yes. I told him good because I have been taking it since the end of Feb. and I think that is why I got my period in March. As an afterthought I should have asked him why he never put me on it. Also, why didn't he tell me to see a nutritionist two years ago?

I was very annoyed because it felt like he was pulling answers out of his ass. I felt like I wasted thousands of dollars as to which Tom assured me it is not a waste of money.

So whatever, I am back at square one.

The Tree Border

Thanks to Thinking Out Loud, I thought I too would try my hand at some pictures. Granted her pictures are way better than mine.

I LOVE these trees. They are planted pink, white, pink, white, etc. They are the trees that run the border of our property on the other guys side.
